We are proud to announce that JOHN MILLER will join our stellar line up for ACOUSTIC WEEK 2010: DEL REY, ERNIE HAWKINS, HAPPY TRAUM, MARTIN GROSSWENDT, MIKE DOWLING and SHAWN PERSINGER. Our venue, College of the Atlantic, is as inspiring as our instructors! The "greenest" college in the United States, COA is located on the 37-acre campus overlooking Frenchman's Bay. You'll be a a 10-minute walk away from the bustling town of Bar Harbor, and a 5-minute walk from the entrance to Acadia National Park. Cars are not necessary, given free- and frequent shuttle buses with go to all towns on Mt. Desert Island and through Acadia National Park! Our Instructional options span the genres of Acoustic Blues, Contemporary Acoustic (flatpicking and fingerstyle), Swing, Bossa, and Folk/Pop with courses geared towards guitar, bottleneck guitar, mandolin, ukulele and voice. Students select courses ranging from repertoire, technique, arranging, improvising, to ensemble and performance skills. While we have "tracks" in specific genres, students can mix and match as they wish. Whether you're new to Guitar Intensives or an alum, we'd love to hear your ideas orrequests for courses you'd like us to include in 2010. Please do this fast... we're finalizing our schedule now! With an enrollment limited to 50 students, an appproximate 7:1 faculty-student ratio overall, and maximum class size of 12, we are able to offer personalized instruction and an intimate environment.
